Kappad beach lining the shores of the Arabian Sea is known more for his historical significance than its scenic beauty. The blue waters are great for swimming. The giant boulder resting on the beach into the sea with an 800 year old Temple is another attraction of the Beach. Kappad is favourite to both International and domestic tourists.
Kappad beach is where the Portuguese navigator Vasco Da Gama landed after exploring a new sea route to India, thus breaking the monopoly of Venice and thus marking the beginning of colonial invaders to India in the disguise of trade.
